New one from New Mexico
« on: May 14, 2006 - 11:27:47 PM »
My name is Julian. Live in ALbuquerque New Mexico. Im currently working on a 73 challgenger. It came with a 318 but im going with a 68 383 block that has been bored '40 over. i got a street/drag cam and forged pistons.  Im also dropping a 727 with a shift kit and i think i might go with 9'' on the back. i just the body work done and painted it with the "hot rod black" which is pretty much a flat black. once i get a better budget, im gonna go either with a Midnight Blue or a Plum crazy purple. if u guys want to see my car, just go to www.cardomain.com/id/dekoone505 thanks and hope i get some feedback from you guys. By the way, those other mopars on the background r my friend's toys. Both, him and his dad been working on mopars for a while.

Here are some pictures:

  Wlecome!  Looks like a great project!

Looks like there's some interesting cars in the back ground of the first picture.  Are you working on them?

Cool looking project, I like the Primer black paint
What rearend do you have in it now? Isn't it an 8 3/4? I wouldn't put a 9" in it though, it will cost ya HP! If you have an 8 3/4 keep it.

Thanks to all of you! the rear end is an 8 3/4 and for the other mopars, they're owned by a friend. He's got 1 69 chargers an auto and 4 speed 6pack, cuda i think it is a 73 or 74, cant remember, 69 road runner, 2 73 chargers an auto and a 4 speed one.  Does anyone know the bolt pattern for the challenger? oh yeah, and also the bolt that goes on the crank on a 383 and where can i find one? Been working on the new engine lately but its worthless without that bolt since its hard to turn the crank with 4 pistons in it  :grinyes:

440 Source is usually good for big block hardware, but it looks like they are out of the damper to crankshaft bolts because the price says N/A. I would give them a call anyway.

Cool car man. I live in Carlsbad NM and go to Albuquerque/Rio Rancho from time to time. Nice to have another New Mexican around. My brother in law lives in Rio Rancho and has 2 mopars in his garage, a  red/white with white billboards survivor '71 340 'Cuda and a 70 383 R/T-SE.
