here are the shots of the final sealer going on the undercarriage.... it is similar to the "dip grey" , but not as dark as that stuff....the first pic shows actual color....(I'm not painting the bottom, but blowing the overspray on it like the factory did). Next we will flip it over, and I am making  templates for the undercoating in the trunk, to spray on the new NOS quarters....THEN comes the B5 blue!!!

Here is the new undercoating in the trunk on the quarters. I tried to duplicate the pattern seen in my 71 convertible...this is the original type of undercoating that you will find at http://www.rogergibsonautorestoration.com/products.htm ......it's pretty hard to get the original look, but we came close.... sloppy is good...it was originaly too sharp of an edge because it was taped off....we figured we could use our fingers to make the edge gush out more when we removed the tape...but it dried too fast!!! So the next step was to put on some foam tape, which is round like a fat worm...then we laid on another heavy coat, and I was pretty happy with the look...once its all blue it should look fine....now we are ready for some paint! The orange car in the pics is the 71....

The first signs of the B5! The doors and deck lid were edged out, and the body will see color starting tomorrow!! The paint looks awesome so far, especially in the sun!
...more pics to come....

the trim tag was damaged when removed, but I am having a new one made, there is a company reproducing them (they are perfect). I have all fender tags, and build sheets too.

Now we are getting somewhere! These pics are kind of fuzzy so far because of all the clear in the air....There is now paint in the trunk, interior, and front end. Once that clear went on, the B5 came to life! I will have much better shots in a week or so. Next the doors, and fenders will go on, then more wet sanding on the body, then BLUE! :bananasmi
Some shots may be before any clear went on. And notice I am trying to duplicate the factory overspray on the undercsarriage's grey sealer. Thanks guys!
(i'll be on vacation till saturday)
