no laquer...base coat clear coat...an AAR Cuda, will not have ANY black under the wing or wrapped around it's ass end..
I've never seen any car have black under the wing like that
....1970 challengers had a rear strip similar to what your talking about....the "seam" at the tail  panel is under the chrome trim....so you wont tell where the blue and black meet....

I will have to check it out...I probably saw a challenger or an incorrect paint job. Thanks.

I call that roger gibson restoration place talked about and the told me their organisol paint is still lacquer based.  :clueless: Are you using another product?

oh yeah...that is a lacquer...because we have to be careful not to paint over the blue...it will start cracking...so i think your right about the  O-black being a lacquer...we haven't shot it as of yet...I thought you meant the B5 blue...sorry!!! it's our next step...

Here's some shots in the sun! We started to wet sand the fender....
This chromabase paint is awesome...inside the booth I thought the color was off...more like Jamaica Blue...I was kind of worried at first, and my friends all had to calm me down at the shop...the B5 looked very dark...but when the car was rolled outside, man the color was on the money! The paint has 3 different sizes of metallic, and when you walk around the car you see he panels go from dark to light depending on the angles, and sun...so if your painting with this B5 mixture, and do a high quality paint job, expect that...I cant wait till its completly buffed! More pics to come...

Awesome Job Rudy,

I enjoy following your progress.  Mine is ready to do back for final paint, I am just waiting on the shop to squeeze me back in.  So for now I am enjoying yours.  Keep up the good work.

I LOVE the way your car is turning out!  :wow:
I planned on using PPG as I have already bought (and partially sprayed) the primer...I hope the PPG looks as good as your Dupont!?

Is that chromabase a special formula?

Thank you! It's no special formula...the computer mixes it to factory specs based on the paint code on a cars fender tag etc.
