You're not gonna believe this.
« on: May 15, 2006 - 08:07:02 PM »
After I brought my new 73 Cuda project home, I went to talk to a guy who used to do my body work and painting a long time ago. He asked me what I had, and when I told him that I got a 73 Cuda, he asked me if I was interested in some parts for it because he knew a guy that had some he wanted to get rid of. I said "Sure" so he called the guy up for me, and I went over to his place.

He took me into his basement, where he had a huge pile of 73 Cuda parts including 2 good fenders, a new quarter panel skin, new inner front fenders, a trunk lid, front and rear valence panels, upper and lower grill units, perfect back seat, perfect passenger seat, nice door panels, and rear panels, a rear decklid panel, an automatic console, tons of trim, and braces, and a box full of stuff like wipers, grills, visors, tail lights, and probably some other stuff that I haven't remembered to include. Everything was very nice.

I asked him what he wanted for everything, and he said $1,000. I said "I'll take it!" Here are a couple of pictures of the parts laid out in my garage. Don't worry, it gets better.

So anyway, as we were carrying out the back seat, I turned it over, and much to my surprise, I saw an intact build sheet. I started joking around and said "Gee, I wish the car that belonged to that build sheet went with it". We both laughed and joked about it as we finished loading up my truck.

Once we had my truck loaded up, he told me to follow him down to his garage in the woods. I followed him down, and when we went around behind his garage, he showed me this and said, "I'll throw this in for nothing as long as you get it out of here". There is a God.

Yes, this is the car that the build sheet belongs to. The matching drive train is still in the car, and he said that he had it running a couple of years ago. It's a 318 2-barrel. I haven't crawled underneath it yet to check the frame, but the trunk is solid. Both front fenders and one rear quarter are pretty much junk.

Wow, That is a phenomenal find.  I actually thought you were going to tell us that the seats with the BC originally belonged to your car.  Anyway just as cool that you have the car to go with it. Best of luck with it.

I feel sorry for you getting all that for $1,000. You should just sell it all to me for the same price so you won't have to mess with any of it. Just wish I could find something like that as that is better than Christmas.
