Is this correct # for 340 Six Pack Intake ???
« on: May 16, 2006 - 05:53:02 PM »
I picked up a complete 6 pack set up off Ebay for my AAR project. The guy says it came from his dad`s AAR after he yanked it during the gas wars in the 70`s. It has a Chrysler casting number of 3418681 just in front of the front carburetor. But it has "Edelbrock" cast on cylinder 1 intake runner. Is this correct ??? I need to know, because if this is just an aftermarket intake, I`m sending it back.
Does anyone know the correct intake casting number and the correct Holley list numbers for a 1970 340 Six Pack AAR ?

Thanks in advance !!!

Looks like you have the real deal. Ma Mopar contracted with Edelbrock to produce six pack manifolds before making their own (albeit HEAVIER) iron six pack intakes.

So you're okay in that regard....

Yes, Mopar contracted Edelbrock to do their sixpack intakes prior to late '70 production models. After that they were cast iron intakes. HEAVY. :crying: :grinyes:

The 340 sixpak intakes were all aluminum, it was the 440-6 that was aluminum for '69 & early '70 then iron after that.

OK, great, glad to hear. I was afraid it was incorrect. I think I got a good deal on it. I have the carbs too. Does anyone know what the correct numbers should be for a 1970 AAR with auto trans ?
