Those look great!!!!!! I need to do mine in white. Was is hard to do?
It was surprisely easy to do actually. I assumed it was rocket science or something but it wasn't. You absolutely need a GOOD set of hog-ring pliers, 3/4''-1'' hog-rings (anything smaller would make it nearly impossible), and a little determination. I used the write-up done by Cody on LAMOPAR.COM as reference... it was very accurate and well-done.

Beats the $400 the local upholstery shops wanted to charge me.. that seemed ridiculous!

yup - when I stripped mine I found the bezels had a pretty good microfinish on them. I polished them anyway then clearcoated to make sure they wouldn't dull from oxidation. The polished bezels do make the dash pop!

I want mine like this. Looks real nice. So...The factory guages are polishable? :clueless:

its just aluminum... should be no problem polishing.. I did mine by hand. The only think you have to worry about is oxidation... I plan in using Zoops to seal it and keep it looking nice.
I wasn't all that easy though! The factory paint is really hard to get off and I didnt want to strip off the factory coating that prevents rusting... so I did just the bezel, by hand!! It was long and tedious. I almost messed it up a couple of times.

I used pinstriping tape to mask it all off before painting.

If I ever try to do this again I would use a rallye bezel that is already messed up or the paint is messed up. If you plan to keep the wood grain on the rest of the bezel you WILL mess it up. I planned on painting my with textured paint so it was easier to hide the imperfections.

Good luck!

My bezels stripped pretty easy. It might take a second application and you may have to fight the urge to take a razor blade to any stubborn remaining specks. You will destroy your factory graining in the process. When its done it does look pretty shweet!

Looks sweet!!!  The black finished rotors look cool too, however it will wear off just like the zinc wash right?

For the rear brakes you have to use the green bearings with those right?

Chuck.. the silver guage faces are custom.. I had them made based on my design for the car. I got them from WhiteGauges.Net... If you choose to go with a silk screen restoration you should be able to choose any color. I might redo the gauges using silk screening later on...

Everyone else.. the black coating on the rotors is to prevent rusting on the non-contact surfaces and keep them looking nice... the pad surface should wear off with the first use. Yes.. I have to use the green bearings.
