Registry Check
« on: May 19, 2006 - 09:21:36 PM »

I need some help, I'm setting up the registry at the moment and need to know all the Muscle bodies.
Can you guys check the lists to make sure they're correct and/or I haven't missed anything out.

So far I have as follows:

A-Bodies =

Dodge Darts
Dodge Demons
Plymouth Barracudas
Plymouth Dusters
Plymouth Valiants

B-Bodies =

Dodge Coronets
Dodge Chargers
Dodge SuperBees
Plymouth Belvederes
Plymouth GTXs
Plymouth Roadrunners
Plymouth Satellites

C-Bodies =

Chrysler 300s
Chrysler Imperials
Chrysler New Yorkers
Chrysler Windsors
Dodge 880s
Dodge Monacos
Dodge Polaras
Plymouth Furys

E-Bodies =

Dodge Challenger
Plymouth 'Cuda

Is there any other body type that fits in "Muscle". I have a Classics section whic is run by Pre-1930s, 1940s, 1950s etc...DeSoto and Others. Then theres Australian Chrysler section.

Am I missing any cars? Maybe added one that's not correct?

Cheers,
Carl

Demons and Darts were seperate models but they did share some sheetmetal. Good call Andrew.

Are you jsut after the performance cars for your list Carl? Any range of years?

Hey Carl,

You going to consider the Vipers as Mopar Muscle Cars on your list?

Cool, I'll add Demons to A-Bodies then.  (Thanks Andrew).

Yip, basically anything that can squeeze in under the "American Muscle" title.
Like big bad C-Bodies is pushing the term "Muscle" but IMO they're close enough.

I'm registering Pre-1980 cars at the moment.

Oldschool - Vipers and Dodge Rams will be added in the future. At this point in time I just want the Classic Mopars as that's what my interest is and that's basically why I started the registry to help Kiwis get some more precise numbers.

Thanks Guys,
Carl

Hey NZ,

Very nice list!

Just sort of on the fringe of muscle cars would you consider the F-Body cars like the Dodge Aspen and Plymouth Volare?  Since they had the Road Runner package and Petty "kit car" versions with the 360ci engine?  Just a thought...
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Does it just have to be muscle?  Or would Plymouth Valiants be okay.  They were A bodies.

Basically if they're A-Bodies that's fine as long as a few of that body styles other cars are muscle that's cool.

F-Body, Hmmmm.....Not sure, what do you guys think?  :dunno:
Dodge Aspen and Volare, what other F-Body cars are there?

Cheers.

OK, that helps. Add 1970 Sport Fury GT then, it was the only C body available with the 440-6.

Thanks Barry. I already have Furys so basically any Fury sport or not will be placed there. Being in New Zealand I don't need to worry "as" much because they will be few cars, espeacially a one year only 440-6!!  :sly:

Anything else....? I've updated the list.

Don't know if its a sub model or model but there was a Dodge Dart GTS, how about a Hurst Chrysler, Superbird, Daytona. How far back do you want to go? 62-64-Plymouth Savoy was the base model used for the Max Wedge cars.  :smokin:

I'm stupid!   :banghead:   Y'all are correct.   :bricks1:  We used to call them Dart-Demon's back in the day,   :screwy:   but they were two different cars.  I believe a Demon is basicly a Dart front end mated to a Duster back-half.  The Duster tail panel was also changed on the Demon.  Thanks for showing me the light!      (again)    :cooldancing:
