Question about car height
« on: May 22, 2006 - 02:38:11 AM »
Hi all
I noticed that the height of my chally at the front end differs from side to side in that the left front is about 2cm lower than the right - the left front fender covers about 2cm more of the tyre than the other side so it's not tyre pressure. I don't think its the shocks in the front but was wondering if the torsion bars may be affecting things?? Any thoughts??

Yep,
If it isn't a shock crapping out on you, then I would guess it's a torsion bar needing adjustment. I guess you need to decide if you want to lower one side, or raise the other.

Make sure that your rear springs are causing it to look that way.    In my race car, I would preload right side rear so the car would lean left.  To compensate I would adjust the left front to make it sit level again.

To eliminate the rear suspension, you can use a 4x4 going across the rear frame, then jack it up right in the center. Then you can adjust the torsion bars to equal them out.

make sure you take the weight off the front end of the car before adjusting the T bars
