70 Roadrunner 440-6 4 speed totalled
« on: May 22, 2006 - 04:54:14 PM »
A good friend of mine had a terrible accident in his numbers matching 440-6 4 speed super-trac pac FC7 Roadrunner this past Saturday. Throttle stuck on the car, ended up going off road, car dug in and flipped end over end 3 times. A testament to the inherent strength of a B body Mopar is he and his wife walked away with only bruises. Car ended up on it's roof. Look at how the two A pilars and the header is almost perfectly intact after flipping 3 times. I really liked this car and tryed to buy it off of him, shame this had to happen to two great people, but thank GOD they are OK.

Sorry to hear and see that.I had the same happen a few years ago but I spent months healing. If it ever happens again I will clutch it and blow it or if its an auto go to neutral and let her blow. It will be easier to replace the motor than to replace the car. When it happened the first time I was trying to save the engine and really just forgot where the car was. :(  :sadwavey:
Again I am really sorry for the loss of one fine looking Road Runner

It was certainly a tough day for the Runner.   :walkaway:   I'm glad the occupants were only bruised up a little.

Scary pictures! Impressive damage and likewise the cabin's safety seems to have made it's job here.
I feel sorry for them folks, but glad to hear they're OK.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

This is what insurance is for.  The important thing is that both occupants are okay.  The car is fixable, most likely, it's just a matter of how much money is willing to be spent.  For a car that rare, I'd say it's worth the cost to fix.

Glad they are OK,

Lesson to everybody though is to train yourself to shut the key off without locking the steering column.
