Hi from PA
« on: May 22, 2006 - 07:40:07 PM »
Hi I'm working on a 74 challenger rally.  I'm calling it the phoenix project.  It was one of those deals where the car looked better than it was and I was hot to own it.  I should have passed but didn't. The more I take off the more problems I find.  Oh well, when the dust clears, I will have replaced or done rust repair on every body panel.  I'm getting a lot of welding practice (I also have a buddy who is an excellent welder and a great help).  Started at the front and so far we've replaced both inner fender panels, put 3 patches in the firewall, patched both rocker panels, replaced the entire floor on both sides, patched the panel under the rear seat on both sides, replaced the entire trunk floor and both extensions, replaced both outer wheel houses and quarter panels, patched both inner wheelhouses, replaced the trunk surround, back filler panel and tail-light panel, installed rear frame rail sections on both sides and patched the roof.  I built a rotator last week and got the car mounted to it - spent the weekend welding the seems underneath her and getting her ready to sandbalst.  I have a 5.7 hemi for it and like WB440, I want to use the factory wiring and computer but have not figured out how to do it yet. This is good site.  I'm having probs getting the pics small enough will try again soon.

Welcome Petediver, sounds like a big project you have on you plate. Lots of good info & people here so hang out & ask questions. I open my pictures in m/s paint & use the strech/skew tool & shrink by 50% then save as JPEG  :bigshades:
