    Got a recommendation?  What should I gap them to?  Thanks.

    I have Autolite 85's. The gap is .035 I believe.

    what do you guy know about the "Truck Plugs" and using them with 340, 383, 440 etc...

    To add another question... what are the good and bad about making the spark plug gap larger?  :dunno:

    increasing the gap will increase the exposure of the spark to the gas mixyure so it has a better chance of burning , down side is it takes more power to fire the plug & under high compression can cause it to misfire if the voltage is inadequate

    I ran RJ12YCs in my race 440 motors gapped at .060, but I used an MSD7AL multispark.  I think all of the N plugs are the longer reach plugs for the small blocks. I wish they still made the RJ11Y plug, the 12s were a little too hot.

    My Mistake
     DO NOT use RN plugs in a 440 there are a longer reach plug & will probably hit the piston ,
    RJ12YC is the correct part # for the Big blocks & yes they are being phased out as the Mopar big blocksd are pretty much the only engines that use them

    NGK makes a v-power plug (VR5 I think) and also they now have an iridium plug as well. Haven't tried the truck plugs.

    weird, never heard of that before. I ran platinums on another car with nitrous (plate system) and never had a problem. It's not in the compucar instructions either...not that it means anything.

    I have NGK XR5's in my 383 now. They seemed to work great but I did not have a chance to run them too long as I think I fouled one or more during break in of the motor. The car stumbles really bad now, I'm sure it's not the plugs fault, I was running really really rich off the bat.

    I am going to replace with one of the following this weekend and see how it runs.

    Champion RJ12YC
    Autolite 85
    Delco R43s

    I've seen a lot of people recommend all of these. I guess it will come down to whatever is in stock at the parts store.
