Don't know.  It began to rain like crazy, so I didn't get a chance to cruise around yet.

I wouldn't consider outside appearances in evaluating functionality. I can see that they haven't leaked.

True, but when I compressed them, they would NOT spring back.  They wre pretty much shot.

depends on the shocks, but thats not entirely unusual.    they are meant to dampen oscillation

That's true, the older shocks weren't gas charged like they are now and they didn't expand on their own like the new ones do.

If they are either real old, or high mileage, or both, then it won't hurt anything to change em out.  You should switch em out every 50-60K miles or so, at least that is what Mopar, and Monroe recommend.  When they are shot, replacing them isn't very expensive (relatively speaking) for the improvement you gain.  Let us know if notice any gain in ride quality or performance....   :burnout:    :cooldancing:

Well, there was definatly an improvement with the new shocks.

However, I went to replace the rear shocks today, and while I had the car jacked up, decided that I'd replace the broken lugs on the wheel adapters that the previous owner installed.  And, of course, that jackass Murphy reared his ugly head, and this happened.

Luckily, I had a small bolt pattern wheel with a tire on it, so I was able to put that on the car and drive home, but still.  I need a new adapter.  And before anyone preaches to me, yes, I KNOW that wheel adapters suck, but unless you are willing to give me the money for 4 new wheels, tires, and the cost to have the tires put on the wheels, I'm stuck with having to use the adapters.

It was SEMA APPROVED!
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

There COULD be a way to get new wheels without having to get new tires...

I currently have 14x8 inch wheels, if I can find a pair of Rallyes in that size, with the small bolt pattern, and get them cheaply, I should be able to transfer the tires from my current wheels over to those new ones, yes?

I've never seen 14 inch Rallys in larger than 14X6. You can get a 15X8, but that doesn't solve your problem. Sorry I'm of no help.
