I really need some help on this.  I need to gather any and all paint information on Mango Orange.  I went to my local autobody paint store (Sherwin WIlliams ::) ) and they did not have any information on that color.  Long story short, I can't get the color if I don't have the paint code or mixing information.  I'm thinking to myself that this is crazy, in this day and age of computers they don't have a color code stored anywhere, no reference books or anything  ???
Anyway I'd appreciate any help as I would like to get my paint tomorrow so I can try to do it over the week-end.

I don't think you've been through my hassle.  :stomp: I went this morning with tons of info in hand, paint charts, multiple numbers from the different mfgs and even a piece of the car.  Well unknown to me I have 2 heads becuase they were looking at me like I did.  They couldn't pull any info on their computer using the codes I gave them, one came back as a metallic orange and the other codes was a 91-95 Porsche Red. Then they broke out the big guns, the color spectrum analyzer.  Piece of junk couldn't even pick up the color.  :pullinghair:
Well 1 hour later  :banghead: they break out all of their orange color charts from their books and try to match it.  In the end I got some paint but I can guarantee you 80% that it doesn't match, but it will be close.
I'm keeping the color info so when I do repaint the whole car I can match the engine bay.  ::)

ek2,,, or  go-mango/ vitamin c are all one in the same. What I have noticed over the years is that some seem to show no, or next  to no metallic.
This color is a Metallic.!!!  Depending on who's mix you have (DuPont, PPG,
ect) is going to vary your mix for your color.  I personally like the PPG mix even though I spray my Hi-End work in Glasurit. The color shows very little
metallic and looks to be a solid color. (probably as close to original as you can get. ) :2cents:

[/quote :iagree:I know there is a formula for martin senior. I will check some old micro-fish(?) for the recipe. I've mixed and sprayed MS EK2 about 3 yrs ago on a 70 Challenger RT. Turned out perfect!

Well I had rain and high humidity so I didn't get a chance to lay down any color.  Hopefully sometime during the week I can do it either early morning or later at night.  I'm a bit anxious to see what it will be.

In case anyone needs it, the paint code for the new Go-Mango color on the new Daytonas is PVE. I've had a few customers asking about using that color on their old mopars. Not sure how it would look on an old car, but I kind of like it on my wife's Ram Daytona.

PPG is Pittsburg Plate Glass.  Their paint was used on many Mopars originally.  It's title is Ditzler paint.  Find someone in your area that carries Ditzler and you will have PPG.

My local PPG dealer has Chrysler paint chips and mix codes all the way back to the 1950's.  Hopefully yours does to.  If they don't I can get the mix codes from my dealer for you.

just concerned they will get the color correct...

when Dad wrecked the fender back in the earlie 7o's they replaced the fender... it did not match then, does not match now... close but they did not even fade the paint... just painted the fender... and when I have it painted I want it as close to the original as possible...like you could tell the difference when the car is painted...but still.
