Well speaking of fishing, I'm going out on the ocean tomorrow to go catch some salmon. Can't wait. Everytime the night before I go, I just lie in bed awake till the alarm goes off.
 :faint:= me the next day.

YUM!!  Hope you remember your ol' buddy 4C!   :naughty:

fresh water, its actually a man made lake. I think they stock it with perch or something. Nothing worth eating, I just like catch'n'release...lol, keeps me busy while I drink beer.

It was flat out there today. We call this "FAC" on the radio. you could probably water ski out there but Mr. Jaws lives out there and would mistake you for a sea lion. They caught a lot of dinks today so we'll have to go Hog hunting at first thing...5 am. Probably we'll see some whales too. I'll get some pics if you'd like.

Yeah, I have my rod it's a 11.5" length spinning. I call it the Winchester rifle. We go after Sturgeon with it.

Nice, decent size. (I guess you mean 11ft.5") LOL Be hard to cast with a 11.5" rod.  :eek7: :roflsmiley:

What breaking strain are you using for main-line and what's your trace strain?
What reel? How far can you cast?  :jumping: :naughty:

On a Diawa reel with 25 lb Berkely line. The Rod is really old but I have never found one better for beach casting under 100.00. Probably can cast 40-50 yds on a good throw well weighted. Well, I gotta get some sleep....pics tomorrow I hope of fish caught.

Yip, I've found that the older rods are awesome for casting. Real rigid, you almost need Superman to cast to get the most out of them....it's almost like casting a telephone pole. lol

Had my cast measured about 6 months ago: 256 yards or 234 meters. (un-baited, sinker only)
2kg main line with a 30kg trace, 5 ounce torpedo sinker, CD-XD Tournament 14ft rod, Shimano long-cast reel and a pendulum cast with timing like Chryco's engines.  :bananasmi
