rear end what's it worth?

Theres  some guy in town Thats got a 742 for sale 3;23 gears All rebuilt  looks perfect no wear on the teeth at all..  it's solid the axle spin at the same speed  but theres no clutches or anything in it.. He wants me to make him a offer.. what's it worth?

Im not sure I don't know much about them.. It looks like a normal diff with all the spider gears and everything but it's solid like a spool.  The gears aren't welded or anything..

I would rather have a suregrip than a mini spool. They are not very strong and they are really race only. I would not put much value in it on the purchase. Now the rest of it sounds pretty good. It is a shame that it doesn't have 3.55 or 3.91 gears.
Maybe someone can give you a value on it , I would say  $150 to $200 bucks :dunno:
It it had the clutch type differential in it I would say jump on it!

Do not use a spool on a street car that is intended to go around corners. Very dangerous EG if you are on a wet slicky road and turn you could end up as someones hood ornament. The inside wheel wants to spin just as fast as the other wheel. Ehrenberg from Mopar Action warned someone of this as well. Go for an open diff or simply spend the loot and get a suregrip (any style).
