 :iagree:

Please !

if you could talk about the process/details of installing the cycle switch probe as well, that would be a huge benefit to the board !  (at least 2 of us anyway!  haha)

The cycling switch is just wired in series with the compressor clutch just as the low press cutoff switch is. Just follow the feed wire from the fuse box to the compressor and wire the switch in series, either before or after the low press switch. I routed the temp probe from the switch along side the tube on top of the suction line where the temp probe from the expansion valve goes and used 3 small hose clamps and some insulating tape to cover it. This is the best pic I have for now,(showing the sensor tube) will have to get you a completed pic tomorrow.

Make sure that you wrap that return tube with thick insulation like the factory did.  If you don't, the condenser and compressor get so hot that yor temp guage almost maxes out. I thought it looked cleaner, just like in the picture above.

I went to Lowes and bought some 3/4" hole foam rubber pipe wrap that you put over your hot water pipes at home. Cut to lenght, it looks factory.

Is the cycling switch you used adjustable or is it fixed temp? I got my brackets made up and am ready to start plumbing and wiring this in.  :bananasmi

Also having issues getting the correct belt length. More to come in another thread on that one  :banghead:

Here's another large picture of the Bouchillion underhood system on a 72' Cuda

EDIT: Thanks 4C!

OK, had time to take a closer pic of the finished install of the cycling switch, it is not adjustable. I mounted it on the firewall near the suction line from the evaporator. You can also install the probe into the fins of the evap, but my evap was already installed so I chose to install the probe next to the probe tube for the expansion valve.(see above pic) If the suction line is cold enough to cycle, then the evaporator has to be cold enough. As you can see from the Bouchillon pic, they used hoses to run to the condenser which I didn't care much for. They also chose to remove all of the factory lines where I retained all of the factory parts, (Except for the compressor, cycling switch and compressor hose ends). I found Old Air Products is very helpful and I used them to replace the rubber hoses, cycling switch and hose ends.

Mopar73340, that is a great looking setup you have. I got my compressor and brackets today, will try to install next week and will post my results. Thanks for all the pictures and advice.    Ricky

GJ - thats not mine;mine is a lot of custom work and is still being engineered. I posted that Cuda pic from the Bouchillion site. I think it helps to see as many different applications to give you ideas on how you want to do yours.

My underhood should clean up nicely once I get everyting mocked up. I have polished MP breather and valve covers and purple Taylor wires. That leaky Holley SA is getting swapped for a Demon Sizzler Thermoquad. Right now I'm trying to find the correct belt size for the setup.

I ordered the last of my parts from Oldair products yesterday. Did you wrap both the EV capillary line and the thermostat probe around the suction line? On my EV, it has an inch or so at the end of the tube all curled up like a pigtail. Are you supposed to unwind that or ?

I'm going with the VintageAir line kit and will have all aftermarket lines from the firewall forward. The EV is the correct one for 72 Cuda and has the additional equalizer line and fitting. The guys at OldAir said I could still use it, but should cap the equalizer line or cut, crimp, and solder the line shut.

Mt, I put the ev tube in the orignal spot on top of the suction line. You can see the tube it slides into in the above pic. The temp probe is mounted to the suction line directly behind (firewall side) this tube length wise. I did not wrap it. I used 3 small hose clamps and wrapped them with the insulating tape. I have found Old Air Products very helpful and would install however they recommend.

I just finished installing my compressor and brackets from BPE. Still have to get my lines made up. This has to be the easiest kit to install. Before and after pictures.
