The how often do you drive your cuda/challenger thread?
« on: May 30, 2006 - 01:13:04 AM »
Ok, weather should be good for just about everyone, so no excuses for that  :grinno:. How often are you guys getting these mopars out and letting them do what they do best?

So far im at 1,500miles for this month on mine. mines my daily driver though, i drive it everyday...just to work and such which really isnt tooooo far away. Its there when its chilly out and when its 105* outside, me sitting at a light, and all four windows down...can you say HOT?  :burnout: :working:

Mines also my everyother weekend racer

Hah, im lucky if I have a 1000 miles on my car. Everytime I had it together I tore it apart to fix something else....Im sure when I get the new engine built and the car all set to drive, I will be putting at least 500 miles a month on her. I have probably driven my dad's challenger at least 1000 miles....

I've owned my 70 Chally Conv for 7 months drove it 2 times 40 miles before the restored engine 340 6pak came apart.  Been in the shop since January still waiting for the hemi.

Maybe by the end of July I will have thousands of miles on the odometer.

does towing count? Less than 50 miles in the 2.5+ years I've owned it.

I couldn't exactly describe my Challenger as a real "daily driver" but when I want to drive it I will.
I prefer long(ish) drives, at least 45 minutes to an hour to stretch her legs properly......

So, if it's McDonald's, smokes, milk or bread the Jeep gets the call up.....anything else, Lucy.

We were out Friday and Saturday. On Saturday I decided to zero out the odometer and clocked 83 miles just goofin around. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I came within 20 feet of nailing a deer..... THAT stuff makes me nervous.

We take the Chally out once or twice a week.  Usually, Red will just get a twinkle in his eye, and I know wherever we're going, we're going in the Chally. :grinyes:

I've had my 71 Challenger since 1989 and have put 38,000 miles on it since then. I try to drive it at least every other week and in the summer allot more as it goes to Mopar Nationals every year and has since 1992. My 70 Cuda which just got put on the road after a 6 year restoration the 3rd week of April now has 332 miles on the odometer. I try and drive it once a week as I'm trying to work out all the small bugs I have encountered with it being a full blown restoration. Everything that could be taken off was. It has been to 2 car shows and 2 car cruises already and I wanted to drive it to Mopar Nationals but I'm not sure if I want to drive it 8 1/2 hours with so few miles on the car.

The Beast isn't a daily driver, but I drive it when I can.  I drove it a couple of weeks ago about 80 miles.  It did fine.  There are folks that don't think it is street driven, but it is--and pretty often......    :burnout:     :cooldancing:

So far this year the hardtop hasn't moved since it's under construction and the convertible . . maybe 20 miles.  Been busy . . . I'm moving.  Plus the convert is in the body shop getting some paint work done!  Last year I put 1500 on the convert.  Easy to track as I set the odometer to 000000.   Hopefully get some use out of it yet!   :pullinghair:

In the summer I drive my Cuda to local cruise-ins or shows almost every week, and to work maybe once or twice a month.  I don't think I have put much over 1000 miles on it since I bought it 18 months ago.
