This could get interesting.... :villagers: this is a touchy subject for some on Moparts...I think that they are a good company and wouldn't hesitate from ordering anything from them.

I bought my stroker kit from 440source very satisfied but there is some hidden cost. You still have to get it balanced and you have to get the big end of the rod resized because after you torque them they get out of round.Make sure you order chafered rod bearing not the std bearing

Thanks all for the info.  I was planning on ordering a used 440 crank and new connecting rods from them.

I bought a lot of smaller parts from them and was very satisfied. However, I was pretty disappointed that they do not offer online ordering.....

Hopefully they check their used cranks for cracks. They're probably okay but buying used cranks could be a waste of money. I checked out the site after your post. The prices look pretty good for a new crank. I'd go that direction. Also, what Justin said about the hidden costs and the upgraded rod bearings seems like sound advice!

I've built 3 engines with parts/kits from them. For the money, Brandon delivers decent product. For most people, they will work fine. But, if you've never done engine work before, his parts are not acceptable to install in many cases. They will need minor work. He is constantly working on improving his product, so things I'm sure will change. The cranks MUST be checked very carefully to make sure the finish sizes are ok. All mine were ok, but on the small side of the tolerance(meaning with bearings on the large size, there may be oil clearance issues). They 3.75 cranks will not fit 400/383 blocks without some serious lathe work. It adds cost tto the job. Balancing is also extra. As ara ebearings, better rings, etc. the 4.15 stroke cranks may need a trun on a lather to fit a 440 block too. Some do, some dont..Or you can clearance the block..either way, more cost. The rods MUST be cycled, then checked for roundness on the right fixture. They will need correction. H beams, I beams, you name it. My shop charges $100 to fix them, I have heard of others that were so bad they could not be corrected, and had to be exchanged. Also, the pin bores must be cleareanced for pins..He has a note about that in the box with the rods. As I said, in that price range, his parts are very good, and in a few cases, one of the only places to get certain things. I do reccomend them, but you need to check everything to make sure you get the full benefit.

My personal experience....

I've ordered many times from them before and had only good experience. Always good service and shipping. No complaints here!

Hope this helps...

I got a 512 kit from them and was pleased with the parts. There was a fairly important issue that came up during assembly though. The #5 Billet main cap didn't have any clearance for the rear oil seal retainer and it was too tall to allow the oil pan rail to sit flat on the block rail mating surface. I need to machine the top of the #5 main cap to make it useable. If I were to use a bottom end girdle on the block, it wouldn't be a problem though.
