71 Challenger 440-Sixpack Convertibles
« on: May 31, 2006 - 04:41:09 PM »
Common 27 and I have a bet for a soda at work. He says they made 71 challenger convertibles. I say they didn't. I'm SURE they only made the challenger verts in 70. I told him I wasn't sure about the cuda's but I see they made 17 440-SIXPACK 'Cuda verts in 71.(A rare fish indeed!) I know they only made 99 70 Challey 440-SIXPACK verts. 61 4 speeds and 38 autos. One of the automatic cars was my old car. :crying: Okay guys and gals, back me up!! :grinyes:

My guess.... NO.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Sorry I have first hand seen a 71 Chally vert at a car show (last year). Now, unless they had the "conversion" done it sure looked legit ? But, it was not a 6 pk. car.

Yeah,
I think they had 71 Challenger converts. There was a sad piece of rust on E-Bay recently. Then there was an Indy pace-car. I'm sure there weren't many though.

:roflsmiley: Cody, for me to read a fender tag at a show I would have to carry a magnifing glass and pretend to be ole Sherlock, but honestly never looked close to that area of the car, I'm not much into numbers unless it is $$$ and how many spaces do I have left at the "Mopar Barn".  :roflsmiley:

The 383 four barrel was the largest engine available in a 71 Challenger 'vert, and only as a JH model, not the JS.

OK, so NOOOO six-pack convertibles in 71... but the convertibles definitely existed on lesser engines. If I'm wrong, I've been dreaming again.  :banghead:

EDIT: Here's a Newbie with a 71 vert.
