Old VW Rabbit Ad with AAR
« on: June 05, 2006 - 12:45:23 PM »
Does anyone remember (and more importantly, does anyone have) the 80s TV ad for the Volkswagen Rabbit in which a AAR is pulled over by a Rabbit police car in North Carolina? I think there was a print version as well.

"She'll make point five past light speed. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, and I've made a lot of special modifications myself."

Wow,

You can remember that??? That would be a cool commercial to see for sure. Not that I believe a rabbit would have a chance in heck.

Speed tv just had the top 10 car commercials and the 'your in a heap of trouble boy" 70 dodge challenger ad was 8th. Sorry no vw police rabbit cars, just a police beetle

did you scan that ad in?  I would love to get my hands on a re-copy of one of those, that is a sick ad.

I remember those Magnum Gt's with T-tops, talk about a rare car. I haven't seen one in 20 years.

mine was "turd brown" with brown leather and corduroy(sp?) interior.....it got lots of looks in its day.....78 GT, 360-AT....listed at $8400.....literally rusted away at the curb.....even had big holes in the bumpers....last time I saw the car was about 10 years ago and everytime the door was opened or closed, chunks of rust fell on the ground.....and it had been Ziebarted when new(always heard that stuff would kill a car) :roflsmiley:

ps....seems like there were approx 900 GT models made in 78......or maybe it was 78 and 79.....they were really uncommon even when new...
