Pink '66?
« on: June 05, 2006 - 06:43:33 PM »
Greetings all

Does anyone know if pink was an available color on the '66 Barracuda?  My brother in California bought one yesterday and I had him check the floor pans and trunk to see if they were pink also.  They are.  So... either it was an original color or someone did a very thorough job of repainting it.

Thanks for any info.

Jeff

FM3 pink was available in 70 and 71[special order only], but this is not the first time I have heard this question asked. Let's see what the experts have to say.

Right you are Bueller!

He paid $2,000 for it.  It would be nice if it were a Playboy PMOY car  instead of Mary Kay.  But hey,  for two grand it's not a bad car.

I went through my old playboys.  Here are playmates of the year for May 1966 (Allison Parks with Charger) and Aug 1967 (Lisa Baker Barracuda).  They were part of the gift package that they received for becoming the playmate of the year.

I hope that I won't get in trouble for not posting these in the babes section.

Thanks for the photos Garrett

A little research ruled out that it may be a Mary Kay car because she gave away pink Caddies.

I contacted Playboy and they are going to see if they have any record of the vin for that car.

It's hard for me to believe that anyone else would want a pink 'Cuda but we'll see.

And... cue April.

Seriously though, I've never heard of pink being available on any of the A bodies, this most likely was just a thorough repaint.
