NO RUST!!!!!!!!!
« on: June 08, 2006 - 05:56:05 PM »
Well here's some pics of my Cuda. I've decided to take her down to metal.. which I'm glad because the car has two different paint coates already. I'm thinking a 3rd would've looked horrible. At minimum I should save some jing from whomever paints the car.. now I understand why shops sooo much when you just give them a car and say "here ya go".

The best part is that I've found ZERO rust.. which is surprising given any org sheetmetal car. The only bondo I've come across is for small dings and 40 coarse scratches. I'm saving the shaker hood for last since it has a good amount of bodo to cover the waves i assume.

whish me luck!!

Looking good, 71fish!

And no rust, that's a big plus.

Is she going to be black again?

It's an original TX9, N96 car.. so yes as the song says "Back in BLACK!"

Hopefully base clear PPG. Trying to work out some of the details w/ cudagirls hubby, Kenny. So hopefully this fall. And I WILL drive it to Carslile in '07 no matter how she turns out.

Nice looking Cuda and no rust either. It takes lots of time taking all the paint off but it will be worth it in the end. Keep us posted on your progress.

Kenny - Although I have quite a few projects going on, I'm getting it ready for you to paint and do "some" body work. So, as of today, plan on Sept.. and if it needs to stay at your place awhile that's fine too. We'll have to trailer it there.. Can't wait already, because I've seen your work & Michelle's car looks awesome. I'll get to see in person in July.

Thanks guys.. I will be taking pics along the way for sure. Question.. I will go over the car again w/ 180 on a da sander.. but then do I begin to do any bondo work on bare metal.. or do I shoot self etching primer first then take car of the scratch marks and dings??   :dunno:

I already started on the trunk.. it had two small depressions from the wing that i took dowm & already began to fill.
