I went to a recruiter to join the Army and be a chopper pilot like my father, he (my father) told me not to waste my time. I went anyways and becuase I didn't have 20/20 vision uncorrected they said the most I'll ever do is wash them.
Well that is BS becuase I later found that they do accept minor corrected vision people in for flight school and I may not have qualified for combat flying but recon, search and rescue, air transport and others I would have been guaranteed on.
Anyway that info was found out too late as I never did join and every now and then I feel like I have missed out on something in my life.
My point is (and what others have said) make sure you do your research after talking with people. They will tell you what they need to to get you on board, sometimes they will lie or sway you a different direction even though they have no reason.
