I would say the number one reason would be a cam lobe not shaped correctly when the cam was made. The lobes are not "flat" they are made with a slight taper to them so one side of the bottom of the lifter gets contacted first make the lifter rotate .

Exactly , the lobe is not flat except at the top , the ramps are tapered to contact 1 side of the lifter so it has to rotate , if it doesnt rotate the cam is not shaped correctly

Chryco...or anyone else who has used the Engle Cams.....K 56...or K58 that I'm thinking about using.........Since I have power brakes on my 340 Cuda will either of these cams have enough vacuum to still run my power brakes??? Just wonder if they have been installed with power brakes and what the end result was??

I have a 292 duration  .501 lift cam on my 360 and the power brakes sucked! I did put a vacuum can on it and it helped alot. I would say they are worth adding on, so if you would have any booster issues you could always add one. :2cents:

Yea , they kind of defeat the purpose if you are wanting to keep your engine compartment

One thing you will want to do is broach the lifter bores. This will ensure they are the correct diameter for the .904 lifters.  You may find that the 1 and 2 lifters were tight in the bore. You can get the broach from the link below.
