Rotisserie for sale ~SOLD~
« on: June 18, 2006 - 08:06:12 AM »
This is the rig I used for my restoration. Certainly not as nice as the new $1,000+ rigs but it certainly will get the job done. It's very sturdy and designed to accomodate even large cars. It has four pnuematic tires for transport across rough terrain in addition to the steel casters. I've made the brackets to bolt up to the E-body. I cut down the length of the rig so that it would fit in my garage. I have a 'cuda but it should be long enough as is to get a Challenger on their. I think the B-bodies are even longer, but I'm not sure. Because the rig uses 2.5" x 2.5" square steel tubes along the length of the rig, you can lengthen the rig by buying 2 pieces of 10' square tubes. Originally, the rig was 20' long (2 pieces of 10' square steel joined in the middle by a support splice).

Prior to having the car blasted, I cleaned up the rig and painted it with Rustoleum. Of course, during blasting, some of the rig paint was blasted off. But, for the most part, the rig is in good shape.

The new rigs are designed to rotate very easily. I mounted my car fairly low on the rig so I could rotate the car 90 degrees in my standard garage. As such, it was a bear to roll the car onto its side. I would use a floor jack handle as a cheater bar and I could roll the car over by myself. If you mounted the car up higher, rolling the car would be much easier. Unlike the new fancy rigs, this one does not have jacks to move the front and rear mounts up and down. But, I was able to bolt the car up on the rig by myself using 4x4s and a jack.

Price for c-c members is $400. I'm in Orlando. I have a buddy going to PA soon so delivery (for some gas money) may be possible along the east coast. I'm willing to haul it a ways for gas money.

PM or email me if interested... shall36-@-earthlink.net...just remove the dashes.
