OK guys, like you always say, :useless:
Here goes.
The Daytona wheels are supposed to be made of Unobtanium. Very rare and fragile so they supposedy got recalled but some insiders got some and they got out and about. The R/T has em too?
Daytona, got any input on the wheels?
This was what my wife's cousin in Michigan had at one time for a collection.
1 Daytona
2 Superbirds
1 '63 Belvedere Max Wedge? Anyone?
1 Charger R/T
1 Dart 340
Got Fatties?

weren't those the infamous Kelsey Hayes wheels.....they were all supposed to be recalled, but some were not returned.....the lugs loosened on the wheels for some reason, making them kinda dangerous

ps....the red Charger RT looks more like a Charger 500....the older brother of the Daytona.....fastback glass and a flat nose.....grill was out of a Dodge Coronet....392 were made, aerodynamics of a brick which led to the developement of the Daytona...

Wow, lots to learn! I didn't know the Charger was a 500.
I just got pictures and no history.
The cousin just asked my wife and me to store the Daytona until a carrier could pick it up.
It was a while ago, and we don't get a chance to shoot the breeze often.

The kelsey-hayes wheels were supposed to crack in between the studs. They are being reproduced by someone though, I remember seeing an ad over a year ago about them.

They were a neat idea in their time.
