'70 Hemi owners, I have a question
« on: June 19, 2006 - 07:04:07 AM »
Hey gang..
I have a friend that has a '70 Hemi 'Cuda with a production date of Oct.30, 1969. His car doesn't have the original block, but was wondering about finding another block that's more "chronologically" correct. For you individuals that still have their original blocks and know, what are the casting dates on the block? He's trying to get a time window to reference in his search. I don't know which of the assembly plants is was made...

Cheers,
Troy

a good rule of thumb is the block should be no older than 30 days prior to the build date of the car....60 days is very acceptable, especially on HEMI cars...

I posted on Moparts in your thread, but my dad's 70 Hemi Cuda was build in 69 and the block was cast on 5/26/69.

My 1970 Hemicuda was built on December 1, 1969 with an engine build date of Novemeber 1968.

Is that the build date of the motor assembly, or the casting date of the block? That's what my friend's more concerned about, when a block was casted.........

Thanks alot ya'll.
