I'm coming from the south (VA), but since I am less than 3 hrs from Carlisle, I'm not leaving til Fri morning.  See you up there!!

Are you heading up I-81? If so, that's the way the sweet tea tour is going.

Why don't we look at joining the "Sweet Tea Tour" up @ exit 49, I-77 and US 70, one of the Statesville, NC exits. Brian Pruitt will be driving his Silverado diesel and towing the Yellow Peril in a white enclosed trailer. His son, Justin, me (Jim Ridge aka FY1Challenger) and Ms. FY1Challenger, Nancy, will all be aboard. :woohoo: Cell number is (803) 924-6247 so if either of us is running late contact can be made. We should have no trouble reaching Stateville by 9:00 AM more likely closer to 8:30 AM but you never know driving through Charlotte! :22yikes:

I'm from VA around Charlottesville...guess the southern routes by there would be I81 and Rt 29.
I am leaving early Friday morning to.

we are leaving Carrollton Thurs. morn. between 5-5:30. Don't know if to go I-75 toward Knoxville and then hit I-81 or go I-85 to 77 to 81. Last year we went I-85 to I-77 to I-81.

I'll get Redline on map detail tonight to see where and when we can all meet up.  Looks like we could have a fun time this year!

Got Job, we're planning on going up I-85 and would like to get an early start.  Can you meet us at the Crown Plaza hotel off of the Northside Drive exit of 285 around 5:00 -5:15am?

OK -- We want to reach Carlisle by 4pm so we can check in at the fairgrounds on the way to the hotel.  I did some math on this.  it takes 12 hours to get to Carlisle , so we have to leave Atlanta at 4am.  We will average 50 MPH the first hour and 60 MPH each hour thereafter.  So roughly 5 hours after leaving we will have travelled (60 X 4 + 50 = 290 Miles) and arrive in Statesville.  The next 7 hours x 60 MPH brings us to Carlisle at 4pm.

It looks like if you leave at 5 am out of Atlanta you will probably have to average 75 MPH to catch us by Statesville.   So if you cant make our waypoint at PowersFerry/Northside at 4am should we just expect to meet you and FY1Challenger at the Stateville waypont at 9am for the final push?
