The stage 2 is fine. If you are talking about internal mods to make it stronger I would say a billet aluminum rear servo piston , make sure your intermediate lever is a 3.8, kevlar bands front and rear and throttle pressure( kickdown) adjusted right.

With regard to suggestions on what makes the 727 trans stronger, ck out the following:http://www.transmissioncenter.net/727Transmission.htm although I didn't use them for my rebuild cause they were discovered after-the-fact. If I ever need to again I will likely contact them the next time. Speaking of the next time, I have no idea when that might be as a bone stock 727 is, in my opinion, the strongest (factory-built) auto trans ever made. However, some have said, first-gear burnouts have been known to do damage to stock 727's.

Lots of people like Turbo Action's Cheetah valve body #17676 which has the benefit of a standard shift pattern.

The Mopar shift kits that I have seen are not worth messing with . Overpriced for sure.

It sounds like he does not know what he is doing. Does he have a good reputation and is he experienced in Torqueflites? Does he do this for a living (9 to 5) or does he do it "side job" wise in the evenings?
