tonight I was looking out the back porch and I see this little rabbit hopping around. So we rescued it. My GF wants to keep it. It's so cute. Anybody know what kind of rabbit it is?
I don't know what kind he is, but he looks delicious!

Cute little wabbit!
Make sure you don't feed him much lettuce or cabbage...it gives them gas & wabbits can't fart, so they end up kinda sickly for a while. Most other veggies are ok, though.

Looks like we found the owners. Animal pound said that someone has been calling asking about a rabbit. So he followed us back and came up and took him away.  :walkaway:

Well, you made somebody's day!  They were probably very happy to have the little bunny back and grateful someone was watching him.  You did good!

Yeah, somebody's little girl or boy was probably heartbroken. Our cat sure missed it already. It was following it around wherever it went meowing at it.

Was there any explanation from the owner how the rabbit got away?

 What???

I guess the guy that said he was the owner was a flake?  :dunno: When I asked you yesterday about what his explanation was for it getting loose, I had an idea.  :thinkerg:  No, this isn't a good idea.  :nono: Just take any exotic pet you might be interested in... say an Alaskan Huskie, and tell the local animal shelter you lost one. When one arrives, you claim it as yours. How will they ever know? I know this is BAD on my part, but this seems like a way to get expensive pets for nothing. I hope I don't start another scam!!!   :pullinghair:

Hopefully the guy does not have a snake.  :22yikes:

ALWAYS ask for proof of ownership. Get the lil' critter back if you can.

What happened was on Friday, she (GF) went over to animal control clinic/shelter and ran into one of the officers that work there outside. She explained that on Thursday, she caught the rabbit. The officer told her that it sounded like one that he thought he heard about that someone was looking for. So the officer followed her to where we live and picked it up and took it back to the shelter. Well today, she went over and decided to follow up on what has happened and went in and saw it was still there. She asked about what the officer told her and found out that it was another rabbit they were looking for. Apparently, they promised her that it won't be put to sleep. At the very last possibility, she has the option to take it back or it will be sent to a rabbit rescue foundation. Our cat was acting kinda freaky on the very last night we had it, so I think that we probably won't go back to keep it now.
