obviously it needs a couple of panels replaced, but i'd say it's not too bad.  what do you think, everyone?

Got mine back from the blaster - he proudly showed me a steel factory stamp on the roof that said "cold rolled steel", the factory name and the date 11-26-69. I couldn't believe they could get the paint off an leave an ink stamp behind..

Looks good.  Did you do it yourself, or get someone to do it.  I just met a guy that does sodablasting and am thinking about getting my Challenger done by him.  He said he did sandblasting for years but this did so much better that he bought a soda blaster.  I didn't get a price estimate yet, it is more expensive than sand?

What media was used?

thanks everyone for the encouragement.  it was blasted by a guy from topeka, ks.  he charged 150/hr to come to my house and blast everything.  the media was baking soda.  i like baking soda better because it doesnt warp body panels, and the cutting qualities are just as good as sand without the heat buildup.  thing is, soda isn't really good for taking off rust.  it does, however, show you exactly what you've got.  sadil340:  that is pretty amazing with the ink stamp.

I am going to try and blast a hood I have with walnut shell myself....anyone used that. I heard it is much better than soda at taking off rust but wont warp panels like sand.

Anyone know?

I was told clean up is easier with soda also, it just dissolves in water.  No piles of sand in the driveway or in the crevises of your car.

Did you guys have any problems with humidity? When we blasted a chevelle hood and a road runner the machine plugged every 5-10 mins because it was really humid. We had a dryer for the air, it was clumping in the machine.

They blast with all kinds of different media it seems.  Here is a link to the place that did my convertible.
