Just bought a 74 Challenger
« on: June 25, 2006 - 02:28:03 PM »
While out dream shopping for a 70 Challenger conv, I heard about a 74 red HT 4 sale. After calling on the car, turns out my 3 rd cousin owns it. We talked about years of lost time and then came to a very reasonable price. It's an original red 318 auto with 78k original miles. He said it hasn't ran in about 6 mo. I think it is the control box. Turns over fine, absolutely no spark. It's getting plenty of gas. I didn't have the camara today, so sorry no pics. I should bring it home sometime this week or next Sunday for sure. I definately will post some pics and if I get it running some rubber flying. :burnout: This car still has polyglass tires on it.

Momma's gonna be mad, but that's normal!

I have to have some type of Mopar desease, cause I can't stop buying when I find a good deal. :eek4:

Congrats!!!   :clapping:  :clapping:  :clapping:

Getting it going shouldn't be a major issue if you are handy with a volt meter. Ballast resistor, coil, or Ignition module are about it, unless it is the wiring to them. Great find.

Here's what I have so far. Took these last night after bringing it home. I don't know how soon I'll get a chance to get it running. Hopefully over the weekend.

This is a very solid car. Needs left front floor pan and qtrs. Trunk floor, trunk floor ext, and outer wheel houses are solid. I'm thinking of using it for a driver for the summer. I'll be second owner.  :burnout:

Good score!

My car originally came with those hub caps too!

Any plans for it cosmetically?  Paint?  Rims?  Rallye Hood?  Or leave it as is?  Is that the original color?
