technologically challenged
« on: June 25, 2006 - 03:50:38 PM »
Okay, I am technologically challenged. I have a mystery part that I need identified. I have good pictures of it, but when I tried to post it, the thing said, basically, that it was too big. Being challenged as I am, I have no idea as to how to resize (if that's the correct term) this picture in order to post my question. Anyone able to explain this process to someone who knows how to read emails, but little else? I really need this thing identified....................
and I really hate technology.

MEKrunner, pictures are on the way to you. And thanks. I think I need a 6 year old around here to show me how to do this stuff.

OK,

Here ya go... It looks like a bracket that might hold the back of the radio in place to me.  :dunno:

This is dawgs73 from CC.com. I am taking you up on your offer. This part fell out from somewhere under my dashboard when I removed it for the dash pad and wiring harness install. It waited til I got home from the shop and put the dash on the floor. I haven't been able to find anywhere under there that looks like this thing would fit. Now I want to put it back together so I can bring the car home and get it on the street..... after 2 years.
Anyway, thanks a bunch for any help you can give me.

Checked the radio. Nothing there that this would have mounted to. Moderators, any chance to have this moved to the interiors section?

Does your car have a map light? I seem to remember some kind of bracket on mine that might look like that. It's been a few years since I put it on, so my memory is foggy. I can check tomorrow if nobody else dares to take a guess here.

No map light. I haven't the foggiest idea where this might go, but I am worried about leaving something undone if I can't identify what it is or where it goes.

Huh? A bracket for what? I certainly don't have any of the cars that were mentioned above, but I do have the bracket.

AWW,

He's just messing with you.  :grinyes: We have a running joke here about how some people on E-bay play up parts by saying they are for Hemi cars or something desireable, when the same part goes on any car.  I'll look at my map light tomorrow. I still think that's what that bracket is for, but I want to solve this mystery for you too.

It's a new Ford Mustang left mortor mount. With the torque they have they had to beef them up from the older versions.  :roflsmiley:

Seriously, you got me on that one. We had a game going here a long time ago called name that part and I think you would have stumped most everyone here with this one.

I was just joking earlier.

Ground strap for the map light on/off switch. Looks like the one from my dash.
