How to test blower motor?

Pulled the cover off to change the heater core and it looks like the blower has not worked in quite a while. Since I have no power because the dash cluster is out can I hook up 12v to the green wire that goes to the motor to test it? I have a feeling it is bad and if it is can you get a reman. from local parts stores? thanks

I think the geen wire is gound, if I recall the power wire is black & connected to the resistor on the heater box. Yes you can test with a 12v battery or battery charger. replacements are common at local parts stores.
