21 years of practicing law have taught me that there are two sides to every story, and then there is the truth.

   :iagree:

From the couple of pictures I saw, the car looked like a steal for 17K. BUT... when talking about a 36 year old car, seeing it first hand, or having someone check it out for you is a must. Can you believe I bought my car sight unseen?  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead: I got it from a classic car dealership. They sent me a nice video tape of it and all, so I jumped at it. Well.... needless to say there were problems that I would have found out if I had driven it a half mile.  :stomp: Let the buyer beware.

One time I looked at a car 4 times and drove the car twice before I bought it ,only to discover numerous defects , previously unnoticed , after getting it home.

Don't get me wrong,

My car is a beauty, and that's the ONLY reason I stuck with it to fix the bugs. Thank goodness!!! I could bore you with many stories.  :grinyes: This car was basically repainted(well), rebuilt engine(well). New interior(nice). NEVER driven. That was the problem. There were many issues once I started driving it.  :swear: I guess my point here is, that given the value of these cars now, maybe sticking with the bummer you bought might get you some reward in the end. I know it sounds bad now, but I thought I was totally screwed when I bought my car too.

You bought a beautiful 71 challenger clone , with a 440 6 pack, 4spd, dana 60.  Hemi  Orange paint was awesome.  You paid 25k for it, which is well under value, and you know it.   It was such a bad deal, you turned around and listed it for 39,995!    All i can say is, you bought alot of car for that money.    And if it was such a bad deal, why were you trying to get 15k more than you paid for it????

On the pink challenger.  Again, priced to sell, and was sold to a guy fairly local, who is happy with the car.  I sold it for 15k.   Find another 70 challenger , that nice for that price.  Wont happen.  Always 2 sides of a story.  Sorry  your expectations were more than the car was.  YOu could have came out and seen the car.   People are quick to pile on, but I didnt force you to buy it, and the car was well worth 25k....i have tons of pics, if anyone wants to see them.
My but the tons of pics were hard to come by at the time of purchase huh?..........note the e-mail from said member below

Folks I am a person who really enjoys our hobby, and I buy, sell, restore, hunt, find and generally dabble in mopars on a regular basis. I am a fairly successful business owner ,in a totally non-mopar related field, and I rely on absolutely none of the winfall, if any, that this hobby might bring my way to provide for me or my family. In other words I do it for the sheer enjoyment of it. If you must rely on dishonesty and deception to make a deal then our hobby as a whole is compromised. Unfortunately you trust some people to be forthright and admirable and they are not. Just remember its either Black or its White, not a lot of Gray area in this world! The facts are facts and the truth is the truth. Life must go on and I'm sure said member will continue to pedal more cars, but hopefully in the future he might be a little more...........nah wishfull thinking. Thanks
