[rant]I would tell 'em to KMA. I've gotten that a couple times over the year anda half or so i've owned my car, usually about it having a 'weak' 318..haven't heard that since I've been going to the track  :clueless:. So its a dressup package, you could get a 318 "Cuda" in 72+..different hood, emblems, valance/exhaust and the same motor mine had originally. so its Yea, mine's a Barracuda..so what. Its got its original 318, you better have a pretty darn good running 340 "Cuda" if you wanna out run my daily driver BARRAcuda. Could care less about the 5 letters that came with it . I'm 18, its mine, i paid for it, i DRIVE it, could care less if it was a real 'Cuda. My license plate says "Cuda" in it  :eek4:, and it has a flat hood to boot  :bananasmi:rofl: I wouldn't really consider someone that gives you crap over something so stupid a 'mopar guy'. I bet 99% of the guys on the board don't care if its a Cuda/Barracuda. Its the guys that have the high dollar "Cudas" that dont wait their trailer queens mixed in with the same crowd as the 'Barracudas'.  :villagers: [/rant]

I was in a wedding party once where I was introduced to the best man because he had a 70 Challenger cloned to a 440 6 Pak. I was excited to talk to the guy, since I was new to the area, to see if he had any recommendations for mechanics, bodywork, salvage, etc. As soon as he found out that I had a 73 which came with a 318 he snorted and walked away.

There's always going to be people like that. With him, I don't think he really cared about the car so much as he wanted something rare (even if it was a clone). Within a year he sold it and moved on to a ZR1. Ignore 'em, and enjoy your ride.

For me, when I was a kid, Barracudas were favored over Cudas. Ok maybe I was a weird kid but, worrying about others opinions has never been much for an issue for this guy. Just tell em  :swear: & go hang w/ humans rather than jerks.

Well I get a lot of tards calling my car a Charger. They usually follow-up with that's the same as the General Lee. Correcting them does not help cause the next time I run into the same person the first thing out of thier mouth is "how's the Charger". Appearantly they don't really care or are just making small talk. It is still irritating because it proves to me, most people do not have the same reverence for these cars as I.

Anyway, all old school Mopars are the coolest cars ever made regardless of bodystyle.

Everyone who sees my car, and is not a MoPar fan, calls it a Charger. People who have known me for 20 years ask "How's the Charger coming along?"

Plymouth made some neat "plain" cars.  I had a 383 N-code 4 speed '71 Barracuda convertible.  It was a great sleeper with a 440 in it.  If your car makes you happy don't worry about it. These people that you speak of are shallow people.  I have been fortunate enough to own "pedigree" cars.  I have more fun with a "plain" car.  I can drive it with out the fear of theft, etc.  I actually, at times, wish some cars were not as valuable as they are.  It has taken some of the fun out. I am glad to see ANY old Mopar on the road.

Thats funny, I have a Barracuda Gran Coupe which is fully loaded with all of the creature comforts, yet it was also ordered with all of the top performance items you'd get on a cuda. It has the 383, 8 3/4 posi, hemi suspension, 26" radiator..... and I get the same treatment.  :roflsmiley: I also refer to it as a Cuda or Gran Cuda... lol. I don't listen to them and yet still manage to take 1st place trophies home from the shows. Enjoy your car!
