I call Nascar BS!
« on: July 01, 2006 - 09:21:09 PM »
I call BS with the final lap caution.  Me thinks someone was afraid that the Busch brothers were going to overtake Stewart so they threw the caution. NO need for that.  It was the final lap and they wouldn't be going around the track again.  No wrecks no nothing, just a lost tire.  Give me a break.  :stomp: :swear:

It was funny when he got mugged after climbing over the fence by the crowd
I guess NASCAR officials will have a talk with him about that

I though there was something really intresting tonite. Remember the post awhile back with the speculation that MOPAR was dropping out? Not according to the CEO they interviewed at the track.

Are all the rules changes and whineing a pain in the ass?  :grinyes:

Bit I still enjoy it! My wife and I are season ticket holders at Joliet (Chicagoland). We get out of town for the weekend racin' by day casino by nite! Good Times

NZ - NHRA really cool also. At Joliet the nascar track is one side of the road - The nhra track is the other! They also have a dirt track where the WORLD OF OUTLAWS runs. Which IMO is the best time ever!!  :wow:

OK GUYS, I understand your disgust with big time racing. Some have gotten just too predictable and boring to really keep ones attention for very long, but there is a form of motorsport that most of you younger guys may never have been exposed to. It has the side by side heads up thrill of NHRA, close side by side competition of NASCAR,  spectacle if INDY,  hardships of BAJA, allure of APBA, curvy course of LEMANS, brute force of MONSTER TRUCKS, flavor of OUTLAWS with the technical ingenuity of F-1

i think i would have like nascar back in the day when it was much closer to actually being a stock car race, not a car built only for racing with some stupid headlight stickers and the name of a production vehicle car. Car company's can't go by the win on sunday sell on monday motto anymore.

Nascar today is not to my liking so I elect to turn it off. I'm to old I guess, FIreball Roberts was my hero. I'd like to see the SCCA get into it but they don't own the tracks so that's not going to happen. I enjoy the road course at MidOhio and TramsAm racing. Martha and I go to MIS and watch the ARCA series and Toledo has a great 1/2 mile. It's just as fun and a lot less money.
It's interesting the current drivers are not going to talk down NASCAR even when they know a lot of it is BS.

If I were collecting their kind of paychecks neither would I, "Yep best d@mn sport ever, gotta be quick and tuff out on that oval son". I watch on occasion but it is a strech, near soap opera level at times.

I'll stick with NCAA college football & basketball. I like to watch the Daytona 500 and the Indy 500. Other than that its B.S..
