      Just thought of something but i'm probably grasping at straws...several days ago i rinsed down the engine bay on the Coronet and as it has that asbestos (?) wrap on the headers maybe that would explain my "smoke" (trapped moisture). Maybe trapped moisture still hasn't evaporated  ::) Still doesn't explain that wisp from the distributor area though :walkaway:
     

    Edit: Joe (Slimer) just stopped by and agreed to look under the hood as i tried to start the Coronet - fired right up with nary a hint of smoke although we could now barely make out the "smell" of moisture. The wisp from the distributor area was from some moisture trapped under the dist. cap.  :woohoo: :woohoo: :clapping:

    Today's lesson learned - don't get water on wrapped headers. :bricks1: :bricks1:

    If i have to hear that one more time....lol. i lived in virginia two summers ago, hampton roads area and it was hot and humid. very, had no a/c in my mustang either. And now i live where its been 113* already and hot is hot after about 102*ish...wet or dry heat, i dont care...its hot.  :lol:

    Denso alt is in as promised, its the same color as the intake but looks super white for some reason  :woohoo:


    Yes, i know i need to clean up under the hood. its my daily, gimme a break.  :lol:

     Over the weekend I installed a swap meet clutch fan, Edelbrock Air-Gap RPM intake, with a 1" Super Sucker Carb spacer, an old 700 Holley double pumper, Lokar cable kickdown linkage, along with taller throttle linkage, a 3" K&N Air Filter and X-Stream Air Flow top, and some new valve cover gaskets, because my not that old reusable ones decided they didn't want to be reused after all.
     
     I still have to install my new Pertronix Flame Thrower II Coil as soon as I remember where I put the new coil bracket I've had laying around for years at, and fix the leak from the freakin Chrome water neck.....
    Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to recurve the distributor too.

    Looks like the alt is sitting in almost direct sunlight. The camera is set to Center-weighted metering, so it's trying to provide the best exposure for the area around the intake and air cleaner.  :eek7:

    Sorry - I'm at work so I'm in tech support mode (Nikon digital cameras).

    Been doing mostly bodywork on the cuda, and it has been getting hot (triple digits!!) I usually have to stop around noon, which really sucks. The car is really coming along, hopefully have more pictures soon, and maybe paint in a few weeks :bigsmile:

    Sounds pretty good. Throw that Chrome T-Stat housing as far as you can, sucker will never be leak free...damhik  :villagers:

    My Challenger is just waiting for a fender(should be here next week) then i just put it toghter and ride it some..
    My 70 Charger is off for paint(after paint i will change the vinylroof) and then the car should be like new :bigsmile:
    My 69 Charger needs allot of welding before it ever get any paint, and change fuellines and tank, it looks like hell but goes like real beast :burnout:

    Welp. after many hours, putting in a new converter by myself for the first time was quite a lovely experience  :lol2:. but it does run! very, very well. went from about 2,500stall no-name converter to a 3,800/3,900rpm flashing 9 1/2" dynmamic. its a little monster now  :jumping:
