Help in finding a part a Carslile UPDATE 07-05-06
« on: July 03, 2006 - 02:52:36 PM »
I am not going to be able to make it to Carlisle this year and hope that I will be able to do it in 2007. However this year I am in need of one more piece to be in the position of having everything I need to complete my project.
I am looking for a 70 Challenger tail panel in rust free, straight  solid condition. I know that there will be some at Carlisle but since I will not be there I am looking for a kind hearted member of the board to take pitty on me and help me purchase one. I will ofcourse cover all cost
If you could help e-mail me and we can discuss how we could work out the financial end of the purchase. Shipping would run around $50.00 (DHL) which I will arrange unless your coming back west and then maybe we could meet somewhere. I am in NW Ohio.
Thanks in advance

I'll look too, T-cats.  Just so you know, some of the good ones aren't going to be cheap. The cheap ones aren't going to be good.
How much rebuilding are you willing to do?

I would like one as clean as possible I understand that cheap is not an option with a good one.  I just got off the phone with a guy and I'm meeting him tomorrow. He is on his way to Carlisle and has one. I'll know more tomorrow afternoon.

You will have a lot of eyes searching, and as 4C says, when we know you are still in need of one all we will need to know is what $$ limit you are willing to spend? I live in SE Ohio, but I have a son who lives about 45 minutes from Toledo, so I can get it up to Flordia, Ohio, not a problem here. I beleive 4C, April and Rev. each have laptops to keep "control" of the roudys while they are at Carlilse.  :roflsmiley:

I know for a fact there was a later year Chally rear for sale there last year that was SWEET. I didn't bother to ask the price, but finding one for a 70 we might need a magnifying glass.  :walkaway:

I'm just saying, even at a HUGE event like this, that is a rare part. I'll have my eyes open.

I looked for months for a good piece and as soon as I posted up for help  2 fell in my lap. One a solid piece with a couple dings and dents and an NOS tail panel still in the box.

Good things come to those who wait
