Oh not another.. WIW??
« on: July 03, 2006 - 08:14:15 PM »
I found this BARAcuda up for bid before I left the shop today. Dont know actual miles, if anything is matching, or the quality of the resto. Although it was recent. My body man and me came up with a $# for a bid, but if I may ask for your humble opinions. BS23GXXXXX This is a insurance co bid for licensed dealers only so please don't ask.   :feedback:   :feedback: THANKS

:blah: The bidding closes noon on Wednesday. Sorry no fender tag shot ,it was too late in the day to get ahold of the adjuster.

Looks like it was a nice car.  What does your body man think it will cost to fix it?  It was probably a $20,ooo to $25,000 car before the wreck.

You might get a smoking deal on that one but I think your looking at both front longitudinal and radiator support replacement  as well as all the sheetmetal and grille.

But if you could get it for a couple of Gs......

I don't think I would pay more then 3 though

into , the insurance co claims value at 25K. 360, we were trying to figure if the fender wnet back into the door?? Broke thw windsheild? Hard to tell by the pics. Also dont know if the "340" in the pic is really a 340. Either way shouldn't it hav been blue? I'm gonna try and get hold of the adjuster tomorrow.

Yes the engine should be blue in color. The car looks pretty nice but it is hard to tell. I would think no more than $4,000 for the car but you never know what someone may bid to get the car.

I think you meant BH23GXXXXX (BARRAcuda).... they did NOT make BS23G's (cudas).... if this is a typo, then okay. If not, then  :nono:

Still looks like a nice car. From the pics, doesn't look like a big job unless the frame/suspension tower is crushed. Still something I would take on. I'd pay no more than $8-10k.

I am sorry to say you are not correct. I own 2 BS23gXXXXXXXX
In '73 and '74 Plymouth made lots of them.
Interestingly though I also own a BH23H

Here is a pic of one of my titles and the fender tag.  That is a real 'CUDA but not a original 340 car that bigfhclunk is bidding on.

I hope you checked out all the numbers on the car to see if they match though bigfhclunk.  The chrome trim is not consistant with what came on a 'CUDA that year.....

Although hard to tell from those pics the hit was fairly high and the wheel doesn`t look out of whack and even the door to quarter gap looks good.It may need an easy pull and then it`s just replacing the parts.$20-25k car with maybe $5-8k in damage so anything under $10k would be a deal.

No problem.  I noticed right away there is no chrome on top of the door so I thought maybe it was removed or maybe it was a rebody

All BS-'CUDAs came with the chrome trim on top of the door except some of the preproduction cars in 1969 and all AAR 'CUDAs

I think Bondavi is thinking about the Challengers.  I do not think they made any "JS" cars after 71.  They were all "JH" and had the Rallye Package listed as a code option.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

No R/T after 1971...no JS after 1972...in 1972 "Rallye" replaced "R/T" as the performance option although "JS" was kept in use for the VIN. Simply put, "JS" means R/T in 1970 and 1971; Rallye in 1972.

Yep, that was it... no "JS" Challengers after 1972.
