Did you fill in the old gauge holes or use new plastic?

There's a place (can't recall the name) that sells a gauge panel with no holes so you can drill your own. I'll bet they used those.

They both look sharp. I need to think about doing this.

Here is how I did mine.  First made a template of the existing cluster and how I wanted to lay out my gauges.  Then I cut a piece of thin partical board that would be screwed to the old frame of the guage cluster.  Then it was all smoothed out with "cat hair" (fiberglass) and body filler.  Then it was painted.  Eventually, I am going to redo this a little and take the hump out.

I did mine the same as jvhodges.I first made a templete to fit the face.This is where its a little dffernt Next I used it to get all my dimnisons from and modeled it in a program called MASTERCAM and machined it out of pvc plastic.We use it at my job fabricating fluid flow control equipment. The neat thing about using plastics is you can just glue things together.I machined pockets for the gauges to be recessed into and just glued them on the back. When everything was glued together I rattle caned it with wrikle paint.

I bought a half sheet of 12 gauge aluminum and measured it and stenciled it and took it to a laser cutter and cut it.

I powder coated it and put Autometer Phantom gauges in it and used GM switches (Forgive me) for lights and wipers.  LED's for my blinkers and high beam.

Great job!  Your going to love it!
