While I wait for more wiring harnesses to be delivered, I went ahead and fixed my sagging doors.  They were really bad!   :scared:  Check out the videos of before and after.

Cody, what part is it that makes the steering wheel lock? Mines broken and I need to get that part and what it looks like before I tear it apart.

That's hard to say what part it is.  It's not just a single part or even two parts that make the locking system work.  The key moves a lobe that moves a lever that releases the notched sprocket that is pinned to the steering shaft and that allows the steering wheel to unlock.

I would suggest taking it out and inspecting it prior to purchasing any replacement parts.  It could be something simple that just came undone or apart.  As for the parts that make it work, here are the pieces that make it lock.....

and this is the piece that locks into the above pictured part....

and this is the spring that keeps presure on it.....

This is the part cleaned up and going back in.....

You can see the lobe in this picture.    The key is what turns the lobe and releases the lock.

This is the cover to the lever....

Although this pic is showing the "C" clip, look up in the right hand corner and you will see how the lever lock to the notched sprocket.....

Hope that helps!  Good luck

Thanks Cody. it was if someone used force at some time in the past to get the steering wheel to turn. Probably broke off one of those bolts then.
