Hello from central PA...
« on: July 07, 2006 - 08:22:10 PM »
I learned about this site while at Carlisle today. It sounded good so I decided to register. I have a 1970 Challenger convertible that was originally "Panther Pink" w/white top & interior (sadly, it was repainted bronze in the 80's!).  I had the car and all the numbers verified by Galon Grovier.  It is a very solid car and I drive it regularly. I hope to find more info on how to go about & where to go to get it restored. (I do not have the talent nor the time/place to do it myself). I am open to suggestions and looking to learn.

Here is a link where you can find out more about this car.

Thanks..andy

Welcome to the site Andy. Nice car and interesting story how you came about owning it. I would restore it back to it's original glory Panther Pink. What a great looking car you will have when it gets done.

Hi Barry....thx! By the way, I am still hoping to find the correct broadcast sheet for MY car (I check your site regularly). Hopefully sit will turn up someday. (fingers crossed!).

Thanks to the others for the welcome. To answer the question....YES, I plan to restore it to PINK someday. I just put my second kid thru college and have two more to go though...so I am not sure WHEN I will find the money. But someday.... (I will be HAPPY to accept any donations..ha!).

Have fun at Carlisle...

Hi "Rev-it-Up".  I believe we DID meet. If I am right...and you remember, I walked into the tent area Friday asking for you by name? (someone sent me to the tent to seek out your husband, but could only remember YOUR name). You pointed out your husband, and I was able to ask him about FM3 paint and paint techniques.  He also showed me his challenger (great paint job!) and he is also the one that gave me the info on this website.

I am sure I will get to know you and the others during the course of the year. Then I will join you folks at Carlisle and put some faces to the names.

By the way, my only purchase at Carlisle was a correct replacement for one of my wire wheel covers at Carlisle (feature code W15 per Galon). Now to take it apart and restore it. I was also looking for a "parts only" AM/8track player for my 70 convertible. The original one still looks & works ok, but one of the power transistors is a bit weak. If anyone has a junk (or not-so-junky) AM/8track player for a reasonable price, please let me know.
Thanks...andy

70PantherPinkConvertible,  You have a great project underway and you will find alot of help here!  Fm3.... hmmm FM3.... why does that have a ring to it...  :dunno:   Lets chat some more with the paint guru's on the 5 shades of red needed to make that shade and what the exact chrysler/plymouth formula is.  That can help you decide on which mfg. to use.  Glad you are now a fellow member of the best mopar family around!
