I was outside the grandstand during the burnouts, the first dart was sitting there with a flat tire, and the blue pickup had wires in his engine compartment smoking, he was looking for a fire extinguisher.  It looks like fun, but I don't think I would want to take a chance of screwing up my car. :burnout: :crying:

I have to ask something....

If you have a nice car, why do this to it???  :dunno: Don't most tires blow and rip the body apart, or the engine suffers some kind of stress. Why aren't people doing this with rusted out crappy cars that they don't care about?

What's up with the 71 challey wagon??? Obviously home built, but kinda neat in my opinion. The downside is ruining a 71 challey to make it. :grinyes:

I hear you Dave,
We have seen that car for a few years now. It was an R/T to boot. Can't think there were many in 71. It was fitted with the rear of an Olds Vista Cruiser(see the That's 70's show). I didn't know they were stupid enough to enter it into the burnout contest though. Yikes!!!  :scared:

Funny story about the wagon....The woman behind me and April was telling her boyfriend/husband how rare the car was, probably 1 of 15 produced from the factory.   :clueless:

I agree I was talking to my father about the dyno that was out there and he said the same thing about that!! why put the engine under THAT kind of pressure??????  :dunno:  :clueless: they must NOT car that much about their car!! you wouldn't catch me DEAD doing that to either one of MY cars!! NO WAY!!!!! I don't think a burn out is worth THAT much! sorry!  :22yikes:

...Well, If you have been watching the value of E-Bodies, then you will know why none of us joined the Burn-out contest.  :grinyes: If you have beater type of car, then go for it. I'll just sit back and cheer you on.  :woo:

Seriously,

You would go to Carlisle and sit there until a tire blew out? Not me.  :nono:

God, I remember when this hobby used to be FUN...back when E-bodies were actually modified and raced and not trailered from show to show. Now people are even afraid to do burnouts. Oh no, I might break something.  :violin:
Hi Yes this is my Challenger wagon and it is very rare indeed 1 of less than 100 71 R/T SE !! cars built. but it was built into a station wagon in 1973 when it was not worth much more than A Beat on Used Car! its probaly worth more put back original but what funs that it would look like everyone elses and blend in. I like to be different! Thats why I have always liked mopars. as far as the burnouts go Who cares what they are worth! This is what they were made for. Beat on them as hard as you want they make paint and metal every day. If you dont want to beat on them trade them in for a good used Escort or something that gets good gas mileage. anyway looks like a good site and hope to get to know everyone good.

Glad to see it's getting well used rather than sitting stagnant somewhere and just gathering dust.

BTW: I'm looking for something like that type of front spoiler that you have on your Challywagon. Any idea if anyone still makes something like that or is that piece custom as well?
