Good deals at Carlisle?
« on: July 12, 2006 - 09:07:05 PM »
Did anyone find any good deals at the swap?   :clueless:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I found my missing "G" for the tailpanel.  I only needed the G and I found a pretty beat one for $10, but I kept looking and found a complete set of letters for $10.  So I think it was a good price.
I also got the plastic for the cowl vents for $10.  Looked for a console lock but they were all iffy and $25 so I passed.
Some misc. hardware from $.50 to $2.50 which I think is a good deal, more so becuase I didn't need to pay for shipping.
Oh and the amber fog lights to replace the high beam light for $20 for a pair.  I'm not sure if that was a good price, but it seemed fair considering what a regular sealed beam goes for.
The rest of the stuff I bought was from vendors and I really only saved on shipping.
I did get my Holley Street Dominator manifold and talked the guy down $25.

Found these guys which are producing Cuda parts.. for chrysler. Will even have 2006 part #'s on them.

valance insert = better than original
parking light buckets and lenses = unbelievable quality
Metal 71 valance = they told me its already been prototyped & is coming soon!

All that's left to make is the grill trim, cheesgraters and 71 tail lights.. & fenders. When that happens, watch the # of 71 clones go up up by an order of magnitude.  :faint:

Joe,

Things were good until about 4 years ago when everyone got a false sence of worth from what was happenig on E-Bay. This was the first year I really didn't spend any time looking at parts for sale. I just remember last year seeing dirty old consoles for $275.  :22yikes: At least it could have had an ashtray with it.

I don't know if this was a good deal or not but my friend bought a space saver tire in REAL good shape (almost looked brand new!!) for $450.00!! he seemed to feel he got a REAL good deal so maybe it was!!  :dunno: I am not really up on prices so I am kind of clueless! he was happy so I guess that is all that counts.... but I guess when you have a car that you value for insurance purposes at $250,000, $450.00 is REAL CHEAP!

The best deal I saw was a pair of NOS Qtrs for 72-74 Challenger for $599/pr. The were real, not goodmark. Scored a 70 style pass side chrome sport mirror that was attached to an a body door. Bought the pair of doors for $100 just to get the mirror and the doors are rust free.
Cant kill the mean and ugly. Only the good die young...I plan to be here a while!!

Hey the amber fog lights who makes them? I've been trying to find them?
