Picture guru's *Calling Kudakidd!!!*
« on: July 12, 2006 - 10:54:45 PM »
Tested out my new tripod tonight, took almost 70 pics, in 5 locations.  These are the best ones.  Any ones worthy of the 2007 Calendar?

Much better Ghost but you need more light, you are hiding the lines of your car.
The one facing forward in front of the tickets sign IMO is the best one there and worthy of a Calendar shot.

Also, in every single photo you have items in the background, a definite no-no. :nono:  :grinno:
Power-lines in the first two, lights and a house in the 3rd and signs & alarms on walls in the last few.
The new photos you added have take-a-way stores and shops everywhere. lol

The photos you have are like someone with a phone camera who has just spotted your car in everday surroundings. You want to take your car out of those surroundings and get some drama involved.
Get out to where you wouldn't usually spot your car everyday and get some angles going etc.

Better effort though Ghost.  :clapping:

Here's a few that won't make a calendar, but I like because they are sinister, or spooky, or otherwise just plain cool.

First one is my favorite.  I call it, Coming Out of the Darkness.

NZ, here are a couple pics in the daytime.  You'll see why I prefer night shots.

That looks better to me Ghost, I do see the roof but in that first photo all you needed to do was get do a little further and it would have been perfect! Still a good shot though, I'd go out, find a park or something with some colour to help the colour of your car out as it's not an impact type colour so when it's mixed in with concrete and dull colours it doesn't make your car pop, you know what I mean.  Some green bush or scenery would do the photos wonders.

lookin good ghost, id say most need to be in the daily light, you'll rarely get cool night ones. unless its like in a dark empty parking lot with a street light over the car, running lights on, so you just kinda see the sillouette (sp?) of the car. just imo.

Try and keep things out of the background, poles, buildings, signs, etc.

stuff i have in the background is either far away or kinda contributes to the picture, being the road/end of it signs

gettin better though!  :cooldancing:

for the sillouette shot Might be a good idea to take it somewhere very very dark, and put something glowing softly behind it (not a strong/harsh light like a torch, but something softer like an electric lantern)

Also, Ghost, you should grab some head on shots, not 100% head on, about 85% and show off that sexy grille!  :naughty:

They look real good.  I think there are several that could make the calendar.

My advice to you would be to focus on the lighting..... moring and evening work really well.  Do not take picturse into the sun, instead use the sun in your favor.  And if you have to take photos during the day, make sure you have major contrast (3rd pic).  I gotta tell you that the lighting is very key.  All in all very nice.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

This one was taken right at sunset.  The lightly is soooooooooo very important.  It will make or break the picture.

That's better Ghost.  But see how when you delete background images it makes the car the main feature and nothing detracts from your car. Your wheels are turned perfectly, the right side of the car is in light, shadow on the opposite side, much better.

See below how you can crop and make your photos look that much better be using the surroundings. Have the nice night sky showing, nice full length shot or just the car in shot. No background or "suburban sprawl" is a must.
