Is it true that the proper way to remove a stripped screw is to drill it out? I am having this problem please help. The screw is locate in the stainless steel trim on my passenger side window.

Personaly I would drill it with a bit smaller than the scew and use an "easy-out" to remove it.Most important part is to not heat it to the point you work harden it ,put a dab of oil on it and work slow and easy

If you do try try to drill it out, use a left hand drill bit. They can "hook" and spin the screw out, it would eliminate the need for and easy out.
