I just removed the rear window from my cuda and now I can see the full extent of my rust problem on the lower corners.   I'll be replacing the quarters, especially the passenger side, maybe a lower patch on the drivers side.  It'll be a while before I do it so maybe the full quarters will be out by then.  If so that would solve the passenger side issues.  The drivers side just has a small spot so It could be fixed real easy.  IF the full quarters aren't out by the time I'm ready, I would like to know some of ya'lls suggestions on fixing this.  I wish this rust was on the dutchman panel then the solution would be simple.

I suppose one way to go about it is chop the rust out and weld some new steel behind it.If you don't have a welder handy ,body panel sealant may work.Never used to stuff yet personaly though.Fortunately that would be covered with window ribon and trim when it goes back together so it's just got to be sound ,not perfect.

I would clean the rust and weld up the holes.  You will hae to add metal to do this.  If you are unable to weld it you can take Scotchbrite and soak it in fiberglass and while wet apply it to the back of the holes inside the roof. Once it is hardened you can use duraglass on the outside of the roof edge.  I have done this before and it has lasted for many years.  Clean all rust out before you do this.  Seal with Por 15 or simular substance before adding Scotchbrite/fiberglass and Duraglass.

Cut it out, bend the replacement metal into the right shape and weld it in.. What could be easier?

Seriously, that is one of the hardest areas to work on not just because of the tricky bends but because when it's done wrong everyone can see the problems in about 5 seconds when they check out your car.
I have a '73 that rusted out on top all the way across, might be doing a new roof skin on that one....

I made my own patch panels, with some 22 guage steel a vise and some body hammers, first make a pattern out of duct tape with the bends and creases in it then transfer that onto the steel cut it out and beat it into shape using the vise for the bends, when you get to the curves make some triangle cuts small one tack weld one side on to the good metal and work in the new stuff with the hammers and dollies make notches as you need them and tack it in as you go. do small sections at a time like no more than 6 inches unless its going across the top or bottom where it is fairly straight. make sure you make the patteren big enough to cover at least 1 inch from the rust to make sure you get it all.
Thats how I did mine then painted it with por15 on the underside and sealed it all with urathane.
