Welcome to the site, 71RTSEWagon-Conv.!  I remember seeing your car and getting the scoop on its unusual transformation at Carlisle '04.  You definitely cleaned it up much better than it looked in the photos when you first picked it up. :2thumbs:  So what are the stories on the 4x4 Charger and Daytona clone?  Previous owner-inspired rides or your own creation?

I check out your 71 and 69 Charger at the Mopar Nationals. They both indeed drew attention.

Welcome, I have to ask, why you did that to a 71 R/T S/E, Challenger, making it into a wagon?!?!  Just wondering, this is America and a man can do these things if he wants.  Creative collection of rides!

The Challenger wagon I bought and redone it. But it was converted to a wagon in 1973 so it was just a beat used car and worthless. I just think it is way too cool to convert back even though its probaly worth more that way. It would be like everyone elses then and I like to be different. The 4x4 69 R/T I did myself but same story guy had the nice car his grandfather bought new and left him in 1979 and he was selling the engine 4sp and dana to someone for a drag car. and he was hauling the body off for scrap because it was worthless then. So I bought body only for $25.00 in 1980[Wish now I would have bought complete Nice car for $500.00 but I told him he was crazy for that price. As soon as I got it home we rolled the body off my rusty 77 dodge truck and put the charger on there just to run through the woods and mud but later I fixed it back up and have always loved this car ever since then. It has way over 400.000 miles on it since its been a 4x4 it has been everywhere and it was the only car I drove from 1984 to 1987 and my wife drove it every day from 87 till 93. it is on its 5th motor and 3rd trans but it will run forever if I can help it.

You should post some of the photos you show with the car to let the other members who haven't seen it up close see what it originally looked like. :eek4:  Let's just say you definitely cleaned it up quite a bit and made it into quite the unique car. (even though I'm one of those people who'd like to see it as a coupe.) :grinyes:  It's still cool though as it really has the history to go with it, so you may as well keep it as you, the owner, enjoys it the most. :2thumbs:   That Charger has an interesting story, too.  Again, you cleaned it up nicely and I can only imagine what it would have been like to be able to buy these cars back when they "weren't worth much". :'(  (born in '85)

Hi Heres what the challenger wagon looked like a few days after I got it home and put some wheels on it. Check out the superbird style nose? It had a 440 6 pak 4sp in it. It is really a ralley red car with white interior orignaly. I just like plum crazy better. Heres a pics of my challenger conv also when I got it.
