Thanks Killer.

Does anyone know the Carter carb number I should have?
For those that don't know I have a 1970 Challenger R/T with 440 4bbl Automatic & A/C?

Going off Killers Chart, it's suppose to be Carter Carb # 4741 :dunno:

Hey Dimps.

I'm looking for a factory correct 440 Carter that's been rebuilt. My Carb is a 383 Carter....... :-\
I know it's a 750cfm and I have the carb # 4741, just need to find one. eBay has them sometimes.

I went to this guys website called: http://carbmaster.zoomshare.com/0.html He rebuilds them so we were going to send mine over and have him re-jet it. Though, after 2 nice fast emails it has been 2 weeks since he's replied......I've sent 5 emails but nothing. All I need is the address and a phone #. The first 2 emails he was happy as and willing to help and he knew exactly the parts we're missing and what to do.........not sure why he isn't answering.

Why, you got a Carter AVS on you for a 70 440?  :naughty:

You know................................

I'll talk to the dodge (car :stirpot:) guys and see. I would imagine there is one kicking around somewhere.
OR, just order the correct jets and needles for your 383AVS, and install. Pretty simple really.
Asking me to look for a car part......... :smilielol:

OK, OK, I'll see what I can dig up. :2thumbs:

Hey NZ,

I know a guy nearby that can rebuild them. I had some contact with the carbmaster guy. He sold me a steel 440 crankshaft that he said it was looked at by a machinist who told him it looked like it just needed to be turned. I waited almost half a year on the 440 project gathering all the other parts and machine work when I found out the crank was cracked. Not only did he refuse a refund, a partial refund, he was a down right ass. If its the same guy he's in the California Bay Area. He'll have some problems with me if we ever run into each other.
